NSDL Community

Here you will find public links to various NSDL community wiki pages including committee pages, library building information, core technical services and public APIs.


NSDL Committees

The NSDL Policy Committee is elected from representatives of the community of NSDL projects and partners, and acts on behalf of the community to coordinate committee activities and advise Core Integration, NSDL projects, and NSF on operational strategies and priorities. The Policy Committee oversees five standing committees: Community Services, Content, Educational Impact, Sustainability, and Technology.

Policy

NSDL Pathways Partners
NSDL Pathways are partners who provide access to audience-specific views of appropriate NSDL resources and services (portals).

Core Technical Services

Search
The NSDL Search Service provides web-based query access to the resources that are collected in the NSDL.

Data Repository
The NSDL Data Repository (NDR) stores contextual information about NSDL resources, including relationships among resources and bibliographic metadata.

OnRamp and OnFire
OnRamp is the NSDL Content and Communication System. It serves as a content management system with the additional ability to distribute content externally.

ExpertVoices
Expert Voices is the NSDL blogosphere based on WordPress Multiuser. Plugins and themes have been created to help integrate the blogs with the library.

NSDLWiki
The NSDL Wiki provides a collaborative online environment where users can organize, create, and annotate listings in the NSDL Data Repository (NDR).

Community Sign-On
NSDL Community Sign-On (CSO) enables single sign-on for users across NSDL and partner web sites.

Technical Systems
Contains information, monitors and documentation for NSDL technical systems.


Strand Maps

Information about the APIs used to create and customize interactive maps and how to access information from within the Strand Map information space.

The JavaScript API lets Web developers insert interactive strand maps into Web pages using JavaScript and place custom content into the maps.

The Concept Space Interchange Protocol (CSIP) is a REpresentational State Transfer (REST) service API that lets developers search through concept maps and find digital library resource supporting concept maps.
