The Harvest Manager is a web application that coordinates the automatic harvesting of OAI-PMH metadata sources for the NCore repository. The Harvest Manager utilizes specific data from the Collection Management System and submits automated or manual requests for harvests to the ingest process. The Harvest Manager receives notifications from the ingest process, and presents reports and results from ingest process log entries. The Harvest Manager is one of the automated maintenance tools for aggregating outside sources of OAI-PMH metadata into the Ncore repository.

As part of the system of automatic aggregation for OAI-PMH metadata, and the generation of resource references in the repository, the Harvest Manager works with ingest processing and the Collection Management system to provide a management tool for large quantities metadata from multiple sources.
